HYDERABAD, DEC. 17. All parties, including the ruling Congress, today complained about considerable wastage of time on unimportant issues during the winter session of the Assembly which concluded on Friday. The Finance and Legislative Affairs Minister, K. Rosaiah, said the TDP disregarded rules and regulations of Assembly while transacting business although it had just 46 members. He said there was no need for the winter session as the Assembly could have straightaway been convened to meet for the budget session going by the norm of six-month interval between two sessions. But, the Government was committed to a discussion on people's problems. The TDP leaders -- Ch. Rajeswara Rao, Padala Aruna and P. Keshav -- accused the Congress of wasting time on individual insinuations rather than discussing public issues. The CPI(M) floor leader, N. Narasimhaiah, said the TDP was responsible for the ruckus in the House with its provocative attitude. All the parties were part and parcel of the trouble. The CPI floor leader, Chada Venkat Reddy, said the TDP invited trouble by making wild allegations. He felt that parties other than the Congress and the TDP might have had a voice in the House if they had forged a common front. The MIM floor leader, Akbaruddin Owaisi, said the business of the House was monopolised by the Congress and the TDP with their war of words. The BJP leader, G. Kishan Reddy, said the party apologised to the public for the failure of the House to take up their problems.
`Match-fixing'
The TRS MLA, E. Rajender, said there was no concrete and constructive discussion on problems in villages. The lone CPI-ML MLA, Gummadi Narsaiah, said the Congress and the TDP indulged in "match-fixing'' to waste the time. The TDP would raise a question in the morning and a meaningless debate rages throughout the day.
