BANGALORE, DEC. 17. Two employees of a private factory were robbed of cash and a wristwatch at knifepoint by four persons in Jalahalli police station limits on Thursday night. The police said that around 8.30 p.m. four men waylaid Pradeep and Umesh, employees of a factory at Goruguntepalya, on MES Road. They threatened them with a knife and relieved Pradeep of Rs. 280 and a wristwatch and Umesh of Rs.100. On a complaint by Pradeep, the Jalahalli police have registered a case.
Chain snatched
A youth snatched a gold chain worth Rs. 20,000 from Veena Kumari (45), an employee of the Central Silk Board, in J.P. Nagar police station limits on Thursday night. Around 9.30 p.m. a youth came from behind and snatched the chain from Kumari while she was returning home from a medical shop on 11th Cross, 6th Main, 3rd Phase, J.P. Nagar and escaped, the police said.
Recovered
The Yeshwanthapur police arrested four persons who were allegedly involved in 28 cases of burglary and vehicle theft. They recovered from them two cars, electronic goods, silver articles, and gold ornaments, together worth Rs.13 lakhs. The police said that the arrested were involved in cases reported from Yeshwanthpur, Rajagopalanagar, HAL, Vidyaranyapura, Gangammanagudi, Yelahanka, Yelahanka New Town, Hebbugodi, Basaveshwaranagar, J.P. Nagar, Jeevanbimanagar, and Rajajinagar police station limits. The arrested are Viji (30) of Mathikere, Syed Naushad (30) of Cottonpet, Harish (21) of Malleswaram, and Joseph (22) of Channarayapatna taluk in Hassan district.
