Loader caught at airport
The accused, Sukhi Ram Singh, was spotted by Sub-Inspector P.S. Rawat of the Central Industrial Security Force on the closed-circuit television surveillance monitor while he was allegedly keeping something in his pocket after taking it out of a bag kept on Baggage Belt 3 in the Arrival Hall of the International Terminal. The alert official immediately informed an inspector who rushed to the spot along with other personnel and caught the loader. A search led to the recovery of the pearl necklace from his pocket. Subsequently, the matter was reported by the CISF to Air India officials, the Airport Manager and Customs officials. Sukhi Ram was thereafter handed over to the IGI Police along with a seizure memo and the recovered necklace for taking of further legal action.
Seven held for robberies
The accused, Dhruv, Ranjit Singh, Ajab Singh, Ajay, Pappu Singh, Lalla Singh and Neeraj, were arrested from a DDA park. During interrogation, they allegedly revealed that they had assembled to plan a dacoity. The police said the accused had recently committed a robbery.
Boy rescued
The accused is still at large. Amit, son of Davender Singh, was kidnapped from his school. One of his teachers identified the kidnapper as Yogesh, who had earlier worked for Davender. Subsequently, the police mounted a raid at his native place Bulandshahr and rescued Amit from there. However, Yogesh managed to give them the slip. A hunt has been launched for him.
