Last respects paid to Pattathuvila Damodaran

KOLLAM, DEC. 18. Hundreds of people paid their last respects to the chairman of SN Trusts, Pattathuvila Damodaran, 88, who passed away on Friday night at the Shankar Institute of Medical Sciences here. Damodaran was under treatment for the past one week.

This morning, the body was taken from the hospital and kept at Hotel Karthika for the public to pay their last respects. The body was later taken to the head office of the SN Trusts and the Kadappakada Sports Club hall before being taken to Damodaran's house where the funeral rites were held in the evening.

Among those who paid their last respects were the SNDP Yogam general secretary, Vellappally Natesan, the Finance Minister, Vakkom Purushothaman, the Labour Minister, Babu Divakaran, the Electricity Minister, Aryadan Mohammed, and the KPCC president, Thennala Balakrishna Pillai.

Damodaran began his association with the SNDP Yogam and the SN Trusts under the leadership of the late R. Shankar.

He was elected chairman of the SN Trusts in 2001.
