State moves to improve RTC finances
The measures were decided at a review meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary, Mohan Kanda, following the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy's instructions. According to an official release, the Government will extend Rs.125 crores as financial assistance to RTC in view of the diesel price hike. A high-level committee is being constituted to recommend improvements in the finances of the corporation on a sustainable basis.

The association, among others, demanded a Ministry for BCs at the Centre, a Constitutionally constituted BC Commission at the national-level, 50 per cent political reservation for BCs and reservations in promotions. The immigration authorities grew suspicious, as Narsaiah's photo did not match with that of the passport which was in the name of M. Anjaneyulu. When questioned, he confessed to officials that he was not Anjaneyulu but Narsaiah. He told the police that his employer in UAE retained his original passport when he went there in 2001. He returned to India recently and approached an agent, K. Ravi of Jagityal to secure a passport to go to Dubai again.

Chandrakala was reportedly lured by a Maoist leader, Jilani Begum, when she complained of harassment by her brother-in-law. The Maoist leaders promised to sort out the issue and asked her to join them. However, they failed to address her problem and moreover, the girl was made to carry their baggage for miles. Vexed with the drudgery and their indifferent attitude, she surrendered before the police.
