PONDICHERRY, DEC. 19. The president of the Pradesh Congress Committee and Member of Parliament, V. Narayanasamy, has rejected as baseless and mischievous speculation about groupism in the ruling Congress party in the union territory. Addressing presspersons here today, Mr. Narayanasamy said the Rangasamy-led Government had done much to maintain law and order and also provided for the welfare of the poor. A report had been sent to the Union Agriculture Ministry requesting sanction of funds to assist farmers whose crops had been damaged in the heavy rain in October and November. The MP refused to comment on the recent outbursts of the former Home Minister, P. Kannan, on the performance of the Government.
