``Miss India-Worldwide'' pageant next month
MUMBAI,
DEC. 19.
The ``Miss India-Worldwide'' beauty pageant, in which 25 beauties of Indian origin from all over the world are participating, will be held in Mumbai on January 9.
Dharmatma Saran, chairman and founder of the pageant said on Saturday the aim of the contest which was initiated in 1990 was to bring Indian communities from across the world on a common platform. In 1997, the pageant was held for the first time in India.
While in the first year, 12 countries participated and this time girls of Indian origin from 25 countries, including the United States, South Africa, New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates and the Caribbean Islands, are participating.
