Manipur, Orissa enter semifinals

DINDIGUL, DEC. 19. Defending champion Manipur and last year's runner-up Orissa qualified for the semifinals of the second junior National girls under-17 football championship from the four-team Pool I quarterfinal league at Dindigul District Stadium here on Sunday.

In the last round matches of the league, Manipur posted a 3-0 win over Haryana for an all-win record while Orissa trounced Jharkhand 5-1 for its second win.

Bala Devi scored a brace and Parameswari Devi scored the other goal for Manipur.

Sasmita Malik performed a hat-trick and Jhilli Munda accounted for the other two goals for Orissa. Rini Kujur scored the only goal for Jharkhand.

Quarterfinal league table (read as played, won, drawn, lost, goals for, goals against, points): Manipur 3-3-0-0-20-0-9; Orissa 3-2-0-1-6-3-6; Haryana 3-1-0-2-1-4-3; Jharkhand 3-0-0-3-1-21-0.
