CUDDAPAH, DEC. 19. The Government contemplated teaching of English, Mathematics and Science in addition to Urdu in `Madarsas' and `Makthabs' to enable students to continue education in regular schools, the DPEP Project Director, K. Chandramouli, said. Addressing a meeting in the DEO office here, the DPEP Project Director, K. Chandramouli, sought support of Muslim minority elders to check drop-outs. He assured appointment of required teachers on a monthly honorarium of Rs. 1,000 and necessary amenities in Madarsas to educate Muslims. Modern education would be imparted with prescribed syllabi to promote literacy among Muslims, he stated. Lack of upper primary schools at the mandal level led to drop-outs after primary school stage, he said and wanted their enrolment. He assured upgradation or sanction of high schools for girls and basic amenities. Earlier, Mr. Chandramouli inaugurated a screening camp for congenital cardiac patients at Cuddapah Government hospital.
