Spurti, Sharmada triumph

BANGALORE, DEC. 19. S. Spurti and Sharmada Balu annexed the girls' under-10 and under-12 crowns respectively in the Mahila Seva Samaja tennis tournament here on Sunday.

The results: Girls: Under-10 (final): S. Spurti bt R.K. Tanaaz 9-3. Semifinals: Spurti bt Somya Gupta 8-1, Tanaaz bt Nikitha Arjun 8-3. Under-12: Final: Sharmada Balu bt Rachita Sarda 6-2, 6-2. Semifinals: Rachita Sarda bt Yamini Reddy 9-2; Sharmada Balu bt M.P. Nitha 9-6.

Boys: Under-10: Semifinals: K. Sriram bt Kashyap A 9-5; Evans Mirajkar bt Deep Anand 9-1. nder-12: Semifinals: Vinod Gowda bt Sharan Patil 9-8 (7-5); Rashien Samul bt Chirag Igoor 9-8 (7-2).
