Keightley shines in Aussie victory

VAPI (GUJARAT), DEC. 19. All-rounder Lisa Keightley (80) and vice-captain Karen Rolton (52) starred in Australia's eight-wicket win over Indian eves in the fourth One-Day International cricket match here today.

Put in, India managed just 170 for seven in the 50 overs with Jaya Sharma (43) and Anjum Chopra (26) being the main contributors. Keightley also shone with the ball taking three for 17 and was well supported by Cathryn Fitzpatrick (two for 23).

Two useful partnerships, first a 61-run stand for the opening wicket with skipper Blenda Clarke (23) off 16.2 overs and then the match-winning 90-run partnership for the second wicket with Rolton off 23.4 overs, not only gave Keightley the `woman-of-the-match' award but also helped her team take a comfortable 3-1 lead in the seven-match series. The Aussies scored 173 for two in 44.5 overs.

The scores: India 170 for seven in 50 overs (J. Sharma 43) lost to Australia 173 for two in 44.5 overs (L. Keightley 80, K. Rolton 52). — PTI
