Mala Mahanadu on the warpath

By Our Special Correspondent

VIJAYAWADA, DEC. 19. The Mala Mahanadu has decided to intensify its agitation to press the Government to review the appointments and admissions made on the basis of categorisation of the Scheduled Castes.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, the Mala Mahanadu president, P.V. Rao, said activists of the outfit would start a State-wide public movement from December 27 by staging dharnas, rasta rokos, rail rokos and other demonstrations, if the Government did not respond to its demand by then. In the light of the resolution passed by the Assembly urging Parliament to allow the categorisation of SCs, a delegation of the Mahanadu would meet leaders of all political parties in New Delhi urging them not to support the moves to support the Government's move.

He criticised the Government for not issuing the necessary orders setting aside the categorisation despite the Apex Court's judgment.
