BJP not disrupting House sessions: Mahajan

By Our Staff Reporter

PALAKKAD, DEC. 19. The BJP general secretary and former Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Pramod Mahajan today denied that the "BJP has any role in the frequent disruption of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha sessions in the current winter session of Parliament.''

At a press conference here, Mr. Mahajan said: "There was no need for Lok Sabha Speaker Somanath Chatterjee to offer his resignation for the disruption of the session. We took a conscious decision this time that under no circumstances will the Parliament session be disrupted. It was the UPA Government that called the shortest winter session of Parliament ever held after Independence. The Government had no business to conduct except passing a Bill to replace the POTA Act. They had no other official business which resulted in the early adjournment of the session."
