CHAMARAJANAGAR, DEC. 19. The Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, H.S. Mahadeva Prasad, has said the confusion over the distribution of ration cards would be solved before the next Budget. He was visiting Gundlepet taluk to pay respects to his parents and former Minister for Rural Development, Panchayat Raj, and Wakf, Abdul Nazir Sab. Speaking to presspersons at Halahalli in Gundlepet taluk on Sunday, he said a fresh survey work to identify the real below poverty line card beneficiaries would be initiated to prevent the misuse of cards. Mr. Prasad said with the death of the forest brigand, Veerappan, Chamarajanagar district could now take up development work. He also said that blackstone mining could be taken up in the M.M. Hills area. A final decision would be taken in this regard after consultation with environmentalists, he said.
