KOCHI, DEC. 19. The Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, today reiterated his call for a change in mindset to ensure that Kerala catches the development bus.

He was inaugurating the Trade and Tourism Fair, 2004 and a national seminar, `Focus, 2020', organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry at Fort Kochi Veli.

Neighbouring States are ahead of Kerala in development. Only a change in attitude can ensure that Kerala develops at a faster pace, Mr. Chandy said.

A number of development projects are coming to Kochi not because of the concessions extended by the Government, he said.

He assured the people that the State's interests will not be sacrificed when development projects are approved. The Chief Minister felt that seminars like the one organised by the Chamber will go a long way in finding solutions to problems faced by the city. He asked the seminar organisers to put together the suggestions that came up and to let him know so that they can be acted upon.
