North-East craft fair opened

VISAKHAPATNAM,
DEC. 20.
A 15-day North East crafts fair was inaugurated by the Collector, Praveen Prakash, at the Prahlada Prayer Hall here on Monday.
This was one of the 10 fairs being conducted at different parts of the country during this year, the Manager of the North Eastern Handicrafts and Handlooms Development Corporation (NEHHDC), P.K. Gogoi, told reporters. While this year's show was being held at a short notice, there was a proposal to conduct the event on a bigger scale and to include cultural events of the North-East, he said.
Mr. Praveen Prakash said that fairs would help in the development of handicrafts and handlooms and requested the NEHHDC to put up its stalls in the Visakha Utsav to be held next month.
