KHAMMAM, DEC. 20. The BJP State unit president, N. Indrasena Reddy, on Monday blamed the Government for the stalemate in talks with the naxalite groups. Lack on clarity on the part of the Government on the sensitive Clause 7 seemed to be the reason, he added. Addressing a press conference, Mr. Indrasena Reddy said the Home Minister, K. Jana Reddy, had no proper understanding of the issues involved. His Cabinet colleagues were adding to the confusion by speaking in different voices on the naxalite problem. He alleged that there had been a steady deterioration in the law and order. The BJP leader attributed the stalemate in the talks to the "lack of clarity" in the stand of the Government on Clause 7. Mr. Indrasena Reddy said the Agriculture Minister, Raghuveera Reddy, owed an explanation to farmers for his remarks on suicides. He said suicide by farmers could not be attributed to the expenditure on the education of their children admitted in corporate colleges.
Tenders issue
The BJP leader wanted to know why the Inchampally project did not figure in the list of projects the Government sought to take up in the State. He said the tenders process for irrigation projects was lacking in transparency. The Government must clear the air on the bids for the irrigation projects.
