CPI(M) vows to resist privatisation

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, DEC. 20. The CPI(M) leader and Rajya Sabha member, P. Madhu, has lambasted the Congress Government in the State and the UPA Government at the Centre for continuing with the privatisation policies of the previous TDP and NDA Governments.

Addressing the opening session of the two-day Ranga Reddy District Conference of the CPI(M) here on Monday, Mr. Madhu said, "Our slogan will be continuous struggles against these policies of privatisation while continuing to extend support to the UPA Government." He charged the Congress with tardy implementation of election promises like revival of the cooperative sector and regularisation of Gram Sewaks and Anganwadi workers.

Call to cadre

He called on party activists to mobilise people on issues of livelihood and cautioned them against being complacent.

"While we have won a victory in the recent elections by ousting the TDP and the NDA regimes, the present Governments will not deliver on their promises unless there is mass mobilisation on people's issues," he said.
