MYSORE, DEC. 20. A two-day workshop on the thoughts and works of Kuvempu has been organised from Wednesday by Yuvaraja's College as part of Kuvempu's birth centenary celebrations. Speaking to presspersons here today, the principal of the college, K. Sumitra Bai, said the workshop, `Hosagannada Sahitya Sandharba: Kuvempu Samskruthi Parikalpane,' will be inaugurated by the former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Mysore, D. Javare Gowda. Noted critic, D.H. Naik, will deliver the keynote address. Prof. Sumitra Bai said that the workshop has been organised in the light of increasing relevance of Kuvempu's thoughts in the present-day situation. She said that Kuvempu with his universal thoughts had left an indelible mark on Indian culture. She said: "Organising such a workshop at Yuvaraja's College, which was essentially a science college, assumes importance for the fact that Kuvempu taught in the college for several years. It is a matter of pride that such a great personality worked in the college." Scholars such as Ke. No. Nagaraj, Ko. Chennabasappa, M.H. Krishnaiah, Rajendra Jenni, D.K. Ravindra Kumar, N. Boralingaiah, Padma Shekar, Arvind Malagatti, Rahamath Tarikere, D.S. Nagabhushan, M. Krishne Gowda and Mr. Janardhan will participate in it. A large number of teachers and students of the colleges affiliated to Mysore Univer-sity will participate in the workshop.
