BANGALORE, DEC. 20. In the wake of the death of a student of Mount Carmel College on Palace Road here on Saturday, the Shivajinagar MLA, Subramanya Naidu, has urged the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) Commissioner, K. Jothiramalingam, to cancel the licence issued to the Ranka Group of builders for the construction of a building next to the college. Susan Sara (19), a second year B.Com student, was run over by a tipper-lorry in front of the college. The lorry was carrying building material to the construction site. Mr. Naidu expressed his grief over the death of the student and condemned the carelessness of the lorry driver. He urged Mr. Jothiramalingam and the Commissioner of Police, S. Mariswamy, to verify the documents obtained by the builders for construction of the building and register a criminal case against them.
