Heroin seized

MADURAI, DEC. 20 . Sleuths of the Narcotics Intelligence Bureau Crime Investigation Department (NIBCID) seized 1.5 kg of heroin from two persons here today.

Following a tip-off, a special team led by Inspector, C. Thambidurai intercepted a car near Vilangudi this evening. The inmates of the car, M. Basheer alias Abdul Basheer (37) and V. Musthafa (36) of Palghat were found to be in possession of 750 gm of heroin totally worth Rs. 1.5 crores in the international market.

The duo was produced in a city court and remanded to judicial custody, the police said.
