Letters to the Editor
Sir, The arrest of Avnish Bajaj, CEO of baazee.com, is not a wise move. How can he be held responsible for the fault of those who used his website for some illegal activity?
Murali Vaddi,
Sir, When India is emerging as a force in the IT sector, such retrograde antics will only send wrong signals to new players. Almost all the computers are afflicted with virus, spam and pop-ups offering virtually everything. Why such a hue and cry over the e-sale?
Raghubir Singh,
Sir, How can a CEO or a portal manager of a site like baazee.com, which receives thousands of hits daily, ensure that objectionable material is not posted on its web pages? This case will go down as a watershed in IT history as its outcome will have far-reaching implications on the future of e-commerce.
A. Ravishankar,
