Suresh gives Vellore big lead
VELLORE,
DEC. 21.
Vellore bundled out Madurai for 160 and gained a first innings lead of 199 runs on the second day of the semifinals of the TNCA inter-district under-22 cricket tournament here on Tuesday. E. Suresh was the top scorer for Vellore with 128 in the first innings. Vellore district had made 33 for no loss in the second innings at close.
The scores: Vellore 359 (E. Suresh 128, Ashwin 49, Varun Kumar 38, Premkumar 28) and 33 for no loss vs Madurai 160 (Jaishankar 44). Tiruchi 202 and 226 for five in 45 overs (Ravikumar 65, Darshan 55, M.R. Muthupandy 42 batting, Dhanapal 47) vs Dindigul 186 in 79 overs (S. John Lesly 63, Satheesh four for 39).
