NELLORE, DEC. 21. The three-day detention of fishermen from Tamil Nadu, along with their boats, in Patapattapupalem hamlet of Kavali division of Nellore district, ended on a happy note on Monday night, with the team from Tamil Nadu, agreeing to pay Rs. 2.50 lakhs as compensation to the alleged damage of 17 boats. The settlement came after protracted discussions between the parties. Immediately on knowing about the incident, the police, including the Inspector, Nageswara Rao, rushed to the spot and worked for an amicable settlement.
