Phelps & Holmes voted Athletes of the Year
CHENNAI,
DEC. 21.
Michael Phelps (swimming) of United States and Kelly Holmes (athletics) of Great Britain were voted the Athletes of the Year 2004 by the International Sports Press Association (AIPS) on Monday.
The Greek National team which won the Euro 2004 was named the Team of the Year, while the vote for the best media facilities went for the Summer Olympic Games at Athens in August 2004.
Journalists from 143 countries and Specialist Commissions in various disciplines participated in the voting.
