NIZAMABAD, DEC. 21. Residents of the Scheduled Caste Colony under Kotagiri mandal headquarters gheraoed the district Collector, D.V. Raidu, in protest against disconnection of power supply to their colony. Apprising the Collector of their woes, the residents said they had to manage without power for days now as the authorities abruptly snapped supply. They relented after the Collector promised that he would talk to the Transco authorities for restoration of supply. They, however, accused the Government of reneging on its poll promise that power supply to the weaker sections for domestic purpose would not be charged.
