ADILABAD, DEC. 21. Members of Adilabad District Cooperative Central Bank (DCCB) Employees Union on Tuesday launched a relay hunger strike in pursuance of their demands. The staff resorted to the agitation because of liquidity problems being faced by the bank. The staff were also protesting against failure of the Government in investing surplus funds from Governmental and quasi-governmental institutions in DCCBs. They wanted release of interest rebate amounts directly to DCCBs instead of through APCOB, consideration of promotions, payment of officiating allowance beyond six months, release of DA and withdrawal of APCOB staff deputed to DCCBs, among others.
