MANGALORE, DEC. 21. The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation Labour Association has appealed to the Transport Minister, M. Mallikarjun Kharge, to carry out the directive of the High Court of Karnataka by providing the KSRTC Mangalore Division with 100 more vehicles and recruiting more personnel. In a letter to the Minister, the association general secretary, Rathnakar Kalmady, has said the Government should take steps, including deployment of 100 more vehicles of all classes in the Mangalore Division, particularly in the Mangalore-Dharmasthala-Puttur-Subramanya-Sullia and Madikeri sector, to comply with the High Court directive. He urged the Minister to fill 250 vacancies in the technical and maintenance department of the KSRTC in Mangalore and also appoint 200 drivers and conductors, including women, and security personnel.
