YSR seeks waiver of US duty on shrimp
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD,
DEC.21.
The State Government today sought further intervention of the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, in securing total waiver of anti-dumping duty levied by the US Department of Commerce on shrimp exporters from Andhra Pradesh.
The Chief Minister, Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy, wrote a letter to Dr. Singh urging him to use his good offices once again with the department for complete waiver of the duty. The letter, which was released to the press, said such waiver would go a long way in protecting the interests of shrimp exporters. "It will certainly give a big boost to the export of shrimps from this country," it said.
