This Day That Age
The Tiruvarur Music Trinity Commemoration Sabha, with the object of promoting the development of Indian fine arts, has been formed in Tiruvarur. The Sabha has embarked on a scheme to raise suitable memorials to the Trinity of Carnatic music, Thyagaraja, Muthuswamy Dikshitar and Syama Sastri at the house where they were born. It was a strange coincidence that these three composers should have been born as contemporaries at Tiruvarur. The Sabha has appealed to musicians, music-lovers and patrons to come forward with their moral and material support in a generous measure.
