Thrissur
By Our Staff Reporter
THRISSUR, DEC. 22. The Thrissur Corporation standing committee member (Health), Nancy Akkarapatti, today submitted a letter to the Mayor, K. Radhakrishnan, withdrawing her support to the Health committee chairman, M. Usman. Ms. Akkarapatti said she was withdrawing her support as Mr. Usman's term had ended as per the agreement between various constituents of the United Democratic Front. She urged Mr. Usman to resign from the post immediately. Mr. Usman, a representative of the Indian Union Muslim League, however, claimed that his term would end only in March. There are seven members in the standing committee (four from the UDF and the rest from the Left Democratic Front). The Mayor said the letter would be forwarded to the UDF leadership.
