ANANTAPUR, DEC. 22. The Divisional Railway Manager of Guntakal, V. Carmelus, on Wednesday inaugurated closed circuit television sets at the railway station here for the information and entertainment of passengers. Five television sets were arranged on platform number one to begin with. The Station Manager, Aswartha Naik, said the facility would be extended to the platform number two next year. Later at a felicitation function to Mr. Carmelus, who has been transferred to Southern Zone recently but yet to be relieved in Guntakal, the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (Guntakal), K.R.K. Reddy, said during the two-year tenure Mr. Carmelus had taken up several development and employee welfare activities in the division. Inauguration of rail kalyan at Anantapur and Guntakal, construction and sanction of new community halls at all important stations in the division were also achieved by Mr. Carmelus. The Station Manager of Anantapur, Aswartha Naik, said the Anantapur station was elevated as a model station due to the efforts of Mr. Carmelus and several passenger amenities were improved.
