SAAP sanctions equipment for academies
HYDERABAD,
DEC. 22.
Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) has sanctioned the purchase of sports equipment worth Rs. 42.36 lakhs for different sports academies for the year 2004-05, according to Ms. Sumita Dawra, VC & MD of SAAP. She said that the material was expected to reach the academies by December 25.
The disciplines which will be benefit by this order are archery, athletics, basketball, football, handball, hockey, tennis, volleyball, gymnastics, table tennis, cricket, boxing and swimming.
Ms. Dawra also said that SAAP had entered into an agreement with Badminton Association of India for purchase and supply of AS2 shuttles to all international players and academy wards after consulting Pullela Gopi Chand.
