Hercules Mumbai-Pune race on Dec. 26
CHENNAI,
DEC. 22.
The Rs. 1 lakh prize money Hercules Mumbai-Pune cycle race 2004, over a distance of 154 km, is to be flagged off on Decmber 26. The event will feature 125 cyclists from all over India.
In addition to a first prize of Rs. 17,000, the champion has the opportunity to take home an additional Rs. 15000 if he breaks the race record of 4 hrs, 13 minutes and 14 seconds.
There is also an award for the `Promising new talent of the year'. In all 22 prizes are up for grabs, according to a press release.
Starting at 7 a.m. from Mumbai, the race will wind up at the Wakdewadi in Pune. The race is being sponsored by T.I. Cycles, a leading cycle manufacturer and a unit of the Rs. 5,200 crore Murugappa Group.
