`Vaikunta Ekadasi' rush at temples

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, DEC. 22. Hundreds of devotees thronged temples in the city on Vaikunta Ekadasi day on Wednesday. Temples wore a festive look and were teeming with the devout till late in the evening.

The Chilkur Balaji temple, the Birla temple, Skandagiri temple, the ISKCON temple in Secunderabad and other major temples attracted large crowds. A major festival in south India, the `Vaikunta Dwaram' is opened this day every year for pilgrims to pass through in Vaishnavite temples to get the Lord's munificence. Special `alankarams' to the deity mark the day.
