HYDERABAD, DEC.22. An interactive voice response system (IVRS) for the benefit of lakhs of State Government General Provident Fund subscribers and State pensioners is being launched on Thursday at the AG's office. Through the IVRS, lakhs of serving and retired Government employees can now access information relating to their GPF accounts and pension cases over the telephone without having to visit the office in person. The system can be accessed round the clock from any location by dialling 040-23231212. Once the connection to the servers is established, pre-recorded messages stored on the server would guide the caller and try to obtain details of the caller. After searching the database, the desired information would be provided to the pensioner/subscriber based on the options selected by the caller. On dialling the prescribed number, a GPF subscriber can access information relating to his/her account by first quoting the GPF number, department code, date of birth, if available, and password, if it exists.
