The city recorded a maximum temperature of 28.9 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 14.9 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. The humidity was 35 per cent. At the airport, the maximum temperature was 28 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 14.2 degrees Celsius. The humidity was 25 per cent. The forecast for Thursday is: the sky will be mainly clear. The minimum temperature will be around 14 degrees Celsius.

Legal service

PAN must

From January 1, 2005 it will be mandatory to quote the Permanent Account Number (PAN) and Tax Account Number (TAN) on challans. The Central Board of Direct Tax has directed banks not to receive any payment of tax if the PAN and TAN are not quoted, an official press release says.

Exhibition

The National Association for the Blind will organise a global technology exhibition for persons with disabilities on Thursday.

The exhibition will showcase various gadgets and assistive devices that will help the disabled, including the hearing impaired and the visually impaired, lead a better quality of life.

On display will be Braille watches for men and women, "talking" mobile phones and so on.
