Campus Jottings: Work experience mandatory for TASMAC MBA

TRAINING AND Advanced Studies in Management and Communications Ltd. (TASMAC), a leading educational network, will now admit only students with a minimum of two years of relevant work experience for its MBA programme.

TASMAC offers MBA and BA (Honours) in Business Administration degrees validated by the University of Wales.

This university is the second largest and one of the four federal universities of the United Kingdom. The TASMAC courses are offered on its campuses in Bangalore and Pune.

MBA is defined by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education in the U.K. as a career development generalist programme for those who have significant post-graduation and relevant work experience on which the learning process should build. The main emphasis of the programme is on leadership through strategic management.

On TASMAC's decision to allow only experienced candidates to MBA, TASMAC Chairman and Managing Director, Giri Dua, says: "We believe that a programme such as an MBA requires high practical orientation and therefore, prior work experience enables the student to understand and appreciate the theories better and enables them to relate these with real life situations."
