UDHAGAMANDALAM, DEC. 23. The Small Industries Service Institute (SISI) of the Union Ministry of Small Scale Industries will be organising an Entrepreneurship Development Training Programme for the employees of Central Public Sector Undertakings who have taken voluntary retirement. Stating this in a press note issued here today, the Deputy Director, SISI, S. Panikkassery, said that it would be held for 30 days from December 29.
To set up industries
The objective was to help the retired employees set up small businesses or industries. It would cover inter alia selection of projects, preparation of project reports, market survey, ways to obtain financial assistance from banks and practical training on how to manufacture the products.
Stipend given
While any employee of public sector undertakings like the Hindustan Photo Films who has benefited from the Voluntary Retirement Scheme could apply, the age of the aspirant should not exceed 55 years as on December 1, 2004. The number of trainees would be restricted to 50. They would be paid a stipend of Rs. 60 per day on successful completion of the training to meet their incidental expenditure.
Motivation programme
The motivation programme for selection of candidates would be held at 10.30 a.m. on December 28 at HPF. The aspirants should produce certificates issued by their erstwhile management stating that they had taken voluntary retirement. They should also bring birth/age certificates.
