S&N makes open offer

BANGALORE, DEC. 23. Britian's top brewer Scottish and Newcastle (S&N) today made an open offer to acquire 20 per cent shares of United Breweries Ltd (UB) from the public at Rs. 575 per share. UB informed the Bombay Stock Exchange that S&N had appointed Merill Lynch as advisor for the open offer.
