By Our Staff Reporter
PONDICHERRY, DEC. 23. The efforts of the Pondicherry Administration to set up a separate Secondary Education Board have borne fruit with the President giving his assent to the Bill passed in the territorial Assembly in August last. The Education Minister, K. Lakshminarayanan, told newsmen here today that the Law department received a communication from the Centre that the President had given his assent. Mr. Lakshminarayanan said steps would be taken to appoint the chairman, prepare syllabus and school curriculum. At present Pondicherry and Karaikal are following the secondary education pattern of Tamil Nadu while Mahe and Yanam are following the patterns of Kerala and Andhra Pradesh.
