NELLORE, DEC. 23. The Second Additional Assistant Sessions Judge, (Fast Track Court), Nellore, V.V. Seshubabu, on Thursday sentenced Gunji Venkateswarlu to seven years' rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 500. According to the prosecution, Venkateswarlu entered the ladies compartment of the Kakinada-Chennai Circar Express at Chirala of Prakasam district on December 3, 2002, and injured a passenger from Angalakuduru village of Tenali mandal, D. Anjali Kumari, with knife and forcibly took her ornaments. Her relation, Seshamma, who attempted to pull the chain, was threatened that she would be dowsed with petrol and set afire. Later the accused escaped by getting down at Ongole. The women lodged a complaint at Gudur railway station and on December 15, 2002, the Nellore railway police nabbed him at Chirala.
