UJJINI (BELLARY DIST), DEC. 23. Bhagirathi Marulasiddanagowda, Kottur MLA and Minister for Women and Child Development, was given a warm and traditional welcome at Ujjini, well-known pilgrim centre and one of the headquarters of one of the "pancha peethas," by her supporters on Wednesday.
Procession
Ms. Bhagirathi, who was here for the first time after being inducted into the ministry, was taken out in a procession by her supporters. Hundreds of people participated in the procession. A person representing Kottur constituency has been inducted into the Cabinet after a gap of 21 years. M.M.J. Sadyojathappa was part of Gundu Rao's Cabinet and held the Transport portfolio. Ms. Bhagirathi offered prayers at the Marulasiddeshwara temple and sought the blessings of the swamiji. Later, at a public meeting, Ms. Bhagirathi said that she could occupy the post of the minister with the blessings of the God and the support of the people of her constituency. She said she would work hard for the development of the area. Shri Marulasidda Swamiji spoke on the occasion. Ms. Bhagirathi inaugurated an Ashraya colony named in memory of her husband and former MLA, T. Marulasiddanagowda.
