Grandmother comes down on Zahira

NEW DELHI, DEC. 23. Zahira's maternal grandmother has raised strong questions on Zahira's character and implored that she be hanged for changing her testimony. The grandmother stated that she was present when rioters burned up the Best Bakery.

``Zahira's character changed after the riots and we want that she be hanged,'' she told Aaj Tak in an exclusive interview. ``We had a lot of expectations from Zahira that she would save us. Now her character has changed and she has altered her statement. She should be hanged.''

Aaj Tak said its team had unearthed some startling facts pertaining to the case which points a finger on the various people who were helping Zahira, the key witness in the case.

Zahira's changing testimony had put the Gujarat Government and the Bharatiya Janata Party's designs in question, it said.
