Big win for Kerala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, DEC. 23. Host Kerala crushed Assam by nine wickets to keep its hopes alive in the BSNL all-India cricket tournament here on Thursday. Kerala bundled out Assam for 136 runs and scored the required runs off 23 overs to record its second win.

Northern Telecom Region scored an emphatic 10-wicket win over Uttar Pradesh (West).

The results: Assam 136 in 23.3 overs lost to Kerala 137 for one in 22.2 overs; Uttar Pradesh (West) 59 in 15.3 overs lost to Northern Telecom Region 61 for no loss in 9.3 overs; Punjab 294 for nine in 30 overs bt Uttranchal 131 for nine in 30 overs; Chathisgarh 139 in 29 overs lost to West Bengal 143 for four in 27.3 overs; Rajasthan 188 for five in 30 overs lost to Jammu & Kashmir 189 for four in 29.4 overs; Bihar 108 in 29.4 overs lost to Maharashtra 109 for one in 17.5; North East 70 for nine in 15 overs lost to Orissa 71 for no loss in 7.2 overs; Gujarat 159 for five in 30 overs bt MTNL (Delhi) 119 for nine in 25.5 overs; Madhya Pradesh 182 for nine in 30 overs bt Haryana 154 in 27.2 overs; Andhra Pradesh 93 in 28 overs lost to MTNL (Mumbai) 94 for one in 11.1 overs.
