Yognath shines

MYSORE, DEC. 23. A responsible 122 by opener S.S. Yognath and his 139-run partnership with opener M.S. Vageesh (72) and 118-run second wicket partnership with skipper Arun Bafna (60) helped Mysore post 336 for eight in its quota of 90 overs against Mangalore in a Group `B' league fixture in the S.A. Srinivasan Memorial under-22 cricket tournament at the PET grounds, Mandya on Thursday.

In Banglaore, Aswath Aiyappa's 72 helped Bangalore score 224 against Dharwad in a match that commenced at the KT Palace Ground on Thursday. At close, Dharwad was 84 for one in 27 overs.

At Bangalore: Bangalore 224 in 66.1 overs (Aswath Aiyappa 72, Keshav Chitta 41, Y. Karandkar four for 34, R. Bhadrapur four for 47) vs Dharwad 84 for one in 27 overs (Y. Karandkar 51 not out).

At Mandya: Mysore 336 for eight in 90 overs (S.S. Yognath 122, M.S. Vageesh 72, Arun Bafna 60, Puneeth Kumar four for 90) v Mangalore.

At Mysore: Combined City XI 321 in 66.4 overs (Syed Ibrez 88, Charles Mathew 55, Vishwanath 47, M. Guruprasad 40) v Raichur 92 for three in 24 overs.
