film release resolved
A team of the directors and producers, led by Mr. Singh and Basant Kumar Patil, had come down to Hubli after the exhibitors refused to release the film and instead decided to schedule for release a Hindi film on Friday. It was in this context that Mr. Gupta convened a meeting. Mr. Singh is believed to have apologised to the president of the exhibitors' federation, R. Odugoudar, and the latter relented on the earlier demand for a public apology to be published in newspapers. Mr. Odugoudar told The Hindu that he will convene the meeting of the executive committee of the federation to report on the developments and take a decision on the release of the film a day later (Saturday).
