BANGALORE, DEC. 23. The Union Government has appointed the senior advocate in the Karnataka High Court, B.R. Nanjundaiah, as senior special counsel to argue for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in three cases related to the stamp paper racket involving Abdul Kareem Telgi. Mr. Nanjundaiah will be assisted by Sheelavant who has been appointed junior special counsel. Mr. Nanjundaiah will represent the CBI in the Madivala and Upparpet (both in Bangalore) and Vidyanagar (Hubli) cases registered against Telgi and his associates. The hearing in the cases will commence at the Special Court at Parappana Agrahara after Telgi is brought back to Bangalore. Telgi is currently in the custody of the CBI and is facing cases in other States.
