KOLAR, DEC. 23. Pushpa, wife of the acting Chairman of the Legislative Council, V.R. Sudarshan, died in a private hospital in Bangalore on Wednesday following a brief illness. She was 42. Pushpa was reportedly suffering from a heart problem and had undergone surgery in November. The body was brought to Vemgal early today and thousands of people paid their last respects. Among those who paid their last respects were the Legislative Assembly Speaker, Krishna, the Ministers, H.K. Patil and Alangur Srinivas, the Chickballapur MP, R.L. Jalappa, and the former Chairman of the Legislative Council, B.L. Shankar. Mr. Sudarshan who had gone to Tirumala rushed back on learning about the death of his wife. The funeral was held in afternoon. The Deputy Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah, has condoled the death of Ms. Pushpa.
