KHAMMAM, DEC. 23. The Central Crime Station police arrested five members of an inter-state dacoit gang in the town today. According to police sources, gold ornaments weighing about one kg were recovered from the gangsters. Police parties are on the lookout for other members of the gang. The gang, which had a network in major cities such as Bangalore and Visakhapatnam, had struck at many places in Khammam district and looted a number of families. The gangsters were yet to be identified. Their modus operandi was to camp on the outskirts of the cities, approach people living in lonely apartments in during daytime and strike after nightfall.
